Pop Whalen Ice Arena

The Pop Whalen Ice Arena is Brewster’s home ice rink. The rink features locker rooms, showers, stands, a warming room, and a snack bar.

The rink is named for the late Paul “Pop” Whalen, a former Brewster faculty member and coach. Pop was Brewster’s first athletic director and over the years coached ice hockey, basketball, golf, and football. Playing on the snow-covered town rink and iced-over Brewster field, 11 of his teams won Lakes Region Championship titles during the 16 seasons that Pop coached hockey at Brewster.
