A member of the 1988 Class B New England Championship Brewster Basketball team, Brown was a key player - along with teammate Trey Whitfield. Between 1986-1990 Troy was selected to numerous all-star camps (including the Boston Shootout Tournament and Nike Camp). Â Following Brewster, Brown was a standout student-athlete at Providence College, where he became the first Brewster Basketball Player to be drafted into the NBA in 1995 with the 45th overall selection by the Atlanta Hawks. Â Brown's professional career led him to the Denver Nuggets Mountain Review Summer League, the Boston Celtics training camp, and he has multiple pro-player contracts in France, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Germany and more. Â After retiring from basketball Troy has Volunteered as a coach and trainer for numerous AAU Programs in the Boston area, as well as other local organizations.Â
One of the most recruited high school student-athletes in the country between 1987 and 1990, Troy is the physical and emotional reminder of an era - a time in Brewster's history that acted as a seed to the school's current national athletic success and reputation. Â Because of Troy Brown, Rogers Gymnasium was filled with college coaches from around the country.
