Girls' Varsity Soccer Championship Review

Congratulations to Coach Butcher, Coach Brigham and Brewster Girls' Varsity Soccer on another tremendous season - finishing with a stellar record of 15-3, including a 13 game winning streak during the season, and eventual 2024 Class C NEPSAC Finalists.

The team played with heart, passion, and togetherness this afternoon in the NEPSAC Finals versus the Pomfret School. The Griffins of Pomfret had a strong team with many playmakers - a formidable match-up for the Bobcats. A back and forth contest ensued with multiple scoring chances by both teams throughout the first forty minutes.  There were multiple saves by both goaltenders, and a strong run by Maia Pacso '26 who ripped a shot while sprinting down the left wing, which knocked off of two posts before exiting the scoring box.  The teams played to a 0-0 draw at the intermission.

Issy Fyfe '28 broke the scoring drought and put Brewster up 1 nil late in the second half. Though, Pomfret fought hard and was able to find the back of the net on two chances late in regulation time.

Our Brewster girls never quit. They pressed forward and bombarded the Pomfret goalkeeper with shot after shot in the final minutes of the game - but the equalizer would not fall.

Thank you, Girls' Soccer, for a tremendous hard fought Championship game, and another notable season of greatness. Your persistence and excellence led you to play - once again - on the last possible day of the NEPSAC fall season. Your will to win - even when falling short - is palpable and inspiring to all of Bobcat Nation. We are proud of you.
