Sean Collins Named Head Coach of Brewster Boys’ Varsity Hockey for the 2026-2027 Season

We are thrilled to announce that Coach Sean Collins will be our incoming Head Coach for the Brewster Boys' Varsity Hockey program for the 2026-2027 season.

Coach Collins brings more than 25 years of high-level hockey playing and coaching. A former Division 1 Hockey East All-Conference Player, College All-American, ECHL All-Star, and NHL draft pick, Coach Collins also has coaching experience as a junior hockey head coach, college coach, and NEPSAC coach. In addition, he brings scouting experience to his new role in Bobcat Nation. Coach Collins is excited to move into a head coaching role in NEPSAC hockey here at Brewster—becoming a fully immersed member of the community along with his family.

Some more on Coach Collins' hockey background:

Collins currently serves as the Associate Head Coach and Assistant General Manager for the Eastern Hockey League's Valley Jr. Warriors (Haverhill, Mass.) From Reading, Massachusetts, Collins played Division I collegiate hockey at the University of New Hampshire. He scored 77 goals and 96 assists in his four-year career with the UNH Wildcats, where he was also a two-time Hockey East champion and named first-team All-American, second All-star team (Hockey East), Best Forward (New England), All-Rookie team (Hockey East), and Rookie of the Year (New England and Hockey East) during his career.

Collins was drafted in 2002 by the Colorado Avalanche. After graduating from UNH, he went on to play professionally in the AHL, CHL, and ECHL. In his ECHL Rookie season with the Wheeling Nailers, he was named to the All-Rookie Team where he led his team in points with 27 goals and 49 assists. During his three seasons with the Nailers (2005-08), he recorded 69 goals and 139 assists for a total of 208 points. During that time, he received AHL call-ups with the Philadelphia Phantoms and Worcester Sharks.

Collins began his coaching career with his alma mater, Reading High School. He then went on to coach with Governor's Academy, the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs Elite, and the University of New Hampshire (volunteer assistant coach). He also continues to work with Neutral Zone Scouting as a Head Regional Scout—evaluating New England high school and prep teams and players.

Aside from coaching hockey at Brewster, Coach Collins will be working in Admissions full-time and residing on campus starting next summer. In the interim period this school year (2025-26), he will remain involved with the Boys' Hockey program and work as an off-campus staff member, performing admissions and recruiting roles. This will allow Brewster Hockey to continue to recruit quality talent and high-character student-athletes for the ensuing school year and season during the current admissions cycle.

Thank you and congratulations, Coach Collins! We are excited for your incoming leadership for Brewster Boys' Hockey!
