A familiar face within the Brewster community, Tharpe has previously served as an Assistant Coach for Brewster Prep during the 2020–2021 and 2024–2025 seasons. He also brings additional coaching experience from his time at Quinsigamond Community College (2016–2017) and with North Shore Sports Academy's 17U AAU team in the summer of 2025.

Playing Career:

A Brewster Academy alumnus, Tharpe starred for the Bobcats from 2008 to 2011, leading the team to a NEPSAC Championship, a National Prep Championship, and earning NEPSAC Player of the Year honors.

He went on to play Division I basketball at the University of Kansas (2011–2014), where he helped the Jayhawks secure three Big 12 titles and reach the NCAA National Championship game in 2012. As a junior, he was named Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week, recognized for leading the nation in shooting percentage and assist-to-turnover ratio. He also earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors.

Tharpe's playing career continued professionally with stints in the NBA G League and international leagues.
