John William O’Neill joined the Brewster community in 2023. He teaches upper school math and coaches rowing.
Prior to joining Brewster, Mr. O’Neill was an Upper School Science Faculty, Lower School Woodshop, and rowing coach at Dexter Southfield in Brookline, Massachusetts. In addition, he spent three years as the Head Coach and Equipment Director of the Hingham (Mass.) High School Rowing Association. He also has coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and club level with programs including Boston University Men’s Rowing, Massachusetts Maritime Academy Women’s Rowing, Fairfield Prep Boys’ Rowing, and Norwalk River Rowing Association.
In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his partner Emma and dog Mercury. They like to spend time outside, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling, hiking, fishing, rowing, and playing pickleball. John is also a huge fan of movies, music, television, art, and tattoos.
