Jeff Link has a background in education and the pharmaceutical industry. Before arriving at Brewster, he spent nine years teaching chemistry at The College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota; Kents Hill School in Readfield, Maine; and The Linsly School in Wheeling, West Virginia. Before he began teaching, Dr. Link was in the lab—working for 14 years in drug discovery making new pharmaceuticals for people fighting cancer. “Teaching high school chemistry is so much fun,” he says. “Chemistry lends itself to some spectacular demonstrations with some pretty cool science underneath. Anything you can see, feel, or smell has chemistry behind it, and learning more about these natural phenomena, whether it will help in your career choice or not, will enhance your life.” When he’s not teaching, Dr. Link likes to garden, fly fish, and starwatch, going on a long hiking or canoe trip when he can get away. Fun fact, in high school, he was voted “Most Likely to Calculate Myself Into Infinity.” Dr. Link joins our community with his wife Christina and daughters Becca and Jessica.
