Byron Martin

Coach Byron Martin has been welcoming young golfers to the program since 1996.  Brewster’s Golf Program has evolved from a recreational and instructional program to its now very competitive and successful interscholastic varsity team with 6 MAISAD Championships in 10 years.  During that time, Coach Martin has expanded Brewster's exposure in New England golf, successfully coaching back-to-back championship teams for the Granite State Summer Games, including prominent players from the State, including Brewster's own golfers. During the recent summer, Coach Martin can be found coaching his golfers throughout New England on the NHGA Junior Tour and the New England PGA Junior Tour. Coach Martin’s philosophy balances a continuing education on the game of golf, proper etiquette, play improvement, course management, team dynamics, and interscholastic competitive tournament play. The program emphasizes a strategic and developmental look at each golfer's game, capitalizing on their strengths as they apply themselves to the multitude of golfing scenarios that are present each day on the course.

Brewster offers a wide variety of instruction and golfing opportunities with our thriving developmental program, coached by Coach Robert Burr. Coach Martin has been joined by 3yr assistant coach Dick Totaro and other sought-after experienced golfers to offer our student-athletes a variety of perspectives on the game and in life. As we prepare young golfers for a lifetime of the game, we are cognizant that some will play recreationally after high school while others are fiercely competing to earn a spot on their collegiate team. The program has added additional teams and courses to its Fall program to provide more competition and access to some of the finest golf courses in New England.  We are honored to be selected as the only team ever to call home the prestigious Lake Winnipesaukee Golf Course, https://www.lwgcnh.com/home, which offers PGA professionals, practice facilities, and a course that is beyond comparison in the region.
