Boys Varsity Lacrosse defeats Berwick at Home

WOLFEBORO, NH — In a hard-fought battle that saw a decisive second-half surge, Brewster Academy's Boys' Varsity Lacrosse team secured a 12-7 victory over Berwick Academy. After a slow start, the Bobcats found their rhythm in the later stages of the game to pull away for the win.

The game began with a defensive struggle, as Berwick held a slight 2-1 edge after the first quarter. Both teams traded blows in the second frame, heading into halftime with Berwick maintaining a narrow lead. However, the third and fourth quarters belonged to Brewster, as they outscored their opponents 9-3 in the final 24 minutes of play.

Offensive Highlights
The Bobcats' offense was led by Robby Koch, who recorded a hat trick with 3 goals on the day. Jackson Gouveia proved to be a dual threat, netting 1 goal while facilitating the offense with 2 assists. Tim Halleron (2G, 1A) and Owen Tucker (2G) also recorded multi-goal performances to keep the pressure on the Berwick defense. Rounding out the scoring were Bradyn Connell and JR Bonia, who each added a goal to the tally.

Dominance at the X
A major key to the Brewster comeback was the play of JR Bonia at the faceoff X. Bonia was dominant throughout the afternoon, winning 71.4% of his draws, consistently giving the Bobcat offense the extra possessions needed to take control of the momentum.

The Bobcats look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they continue their spring campaign.
