Brewster Academy Athletics

On June 29, 2019, the 2010 prep basketball team was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Former Assistant Coach Al Simoes spoke on behalf of the team recognizing their strong determination despite starting with a 5 win and 3 loss record. Al noted that he had accepted a challenge from Naadir Tharpe ’11 to shave off his iconic mustache if they won the National Championship, which he did with delight! Representing the team was Ashton Khan ’10, Maurice “Mo” Walker ’10 and manager, Steve Dovner ‘10. The 2010 team was the first Brewster team to win the National Championship.
