On this day we hereby recognize and pay tribute to Will Barton for his immense contributions to Brewster Prep Basketball, for his distinguished collegiate and professional career, and for his extraordinary work in his local communities.  A member of Brewster’s first National Prep Championship team in 2010, Barton was named NEPSAC Class A Player of the Year and NEPSAC tournament most valuable player.  In 2010, Barton was also selected as a Jordan Brand Classic All-American and Nike Hoop Summit all-star (a competition between the top ten players in the USA versus the top ten international players).  Continuing his career after Brewster at the University of Memphis, Barton was named to the 2011 Conference USA All-Rookie team and was the 2012 Conference USA Player of the Year.  Barton was drafted in 2012 by the NBA’s Denver Nuggets with the 40th overall selection.  And, in 2022 he became the Denver Nuggets all-time leader in made three point shots (769).  Will Barton may be best known in his local communities of Baltimore (hometown) and Denver for his work with underserved peoples.  A co-founder of the WB5 Foundation along with his mother, Karen, WB5 draws from their own personal experiences of overcoming adversity and aims to lift up those in need by focusing on education, mentorship, and financial support.
