Ejim arrived in the fall of 2008 from Canada for his junior season as a relatively unknown prospect in college basketball circles.  His athleticism, motor, and overall energy level combined with his strong academic profile generated interest from several programs during his initial season at Brewster.  He committed to Iowa State in the fall of his senior year before captaining the Bobcats to the NEPSAC Championship, as well as the programs first National Prep Championship.  Despite his 6th man role, he was named NEPSAC All New England selection, as well as the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of New Hampshire. At Iowa State, he was a 3-time All Big 12 selection, including the Big 12 Player of the Year as a senior.  He was a 2-time Big 12 Scholar Athlete of the Year. His senior season at Iowa State is one of the best in Cyclone history.  His accolades included: 1st Team Academic All America; 2nd Team Associated Press All America;  Oscar Robertson Trophy finalist. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi academic honors society. He was the 4th player in Iowa State program history to score 1500+ career points and 1000+ career rebounds and finished his career as the leader in wins (88). He has the Big 12 All-Time scoring record with 48 points. He has National Team experience with both Nigeria and Canada. He has played professionally in the NBA Summer League, NBA G League, as well as overseas.
