Brewster Academy Athletics

From 1994-2001 during his time as a Brewster faculty member and coach, Seth Ahlborn bolstered the Brewster Crew program and solidified the team as a contender in New England.  The level of the program was raised significantly during his tenure, where the team achieved many personal and team rowing accomplishments under his leadership. Brewster crew saw its largest program numbers in its history, as Coach Ahlborn had created a culture of hard work, discipline, and athletes who cared about their team and sport. As is the challenge with all crew programs, the expense, maintenance, and upgrading of equipment, parts, and other logistics can be overwhelming.  Coach Ahlborn’s persistence, and “all hands on deck” attitude allowed the opportunity for local parents to be involved in the program’s success.  Brewster crew added many new boats and necessary equipment under his charge, due to Ahlborn’s partnership with the local community and parents. A faculty member and former dean as well, Seth Ahlborn was a true servant of the Brewster community - along with his wife Carrie Ahlborn who was Brewster’s former Director of Advancement. Since working and coaching at Brewster, Ahlborn has been the Head of School at schools in Virginia, and served as Head of School at Rancho Solano Preparatory School in Arizona until 2021. Most recently, he has held the title of Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Innovation at Wayland Academy in Wisconsin.
