On Saturday, June 1 2019, Stephen Keogh was inducted into the Brewster Athletic Hall of Fame.

Athletic Director Matt Lawlor introduced Stephen Keogh '07 as possibly the most dominant multi-sport male athlete we have ever seen at Brewster. Matt boasted that in only two years and four seasons as a student at Brewster, Stephen was a two-time Lakes Region All Star and Northern New England Player of the Year known for his scoring ability and physical play. At Syracuse University, Stephen was a three-time All American and helped the Orangemen win two NCAA National Championships. Stephen currently plays professionally for the Rochester Knighthawks and was Rookie of the Year in 2012 and represented Ireland in the World Lacrosse Championships in 2015.

As Stephen accepted the honor, he underscored the value of cherished friendships with coaches and teachers that helped him get to where he is today and the sacrifices that his family made to chase his dreams. “The idea of coming to Brewster with study halls, curfews, and Saturday classes was not initially appealing -- waking early is not a strong suit for me,” declared Keogh. It was a new chapter in his life, and Brewster coaches took a chance on him. “When people ask me about Brewster, I tell them that it changed my life. I was always an athlete but I became a student athlete at Brewster. It had a major impact on my transition and success at Syracuse. Keogh shared that he had been to the White House twice and met with two Presidents and was the first in his family to graduate from college. He recognized that it was because of a lot of people like Jason Smith guiding him through the NCAA qualifications and standards, Zack Apgar’s continual reminders on the importance of focus, Fred Garnsey’s welcoming acceptance, and Matt Rowley’s unwavering guidance and friendship beyond Brewster. Many would have been surprised to realize that Coach Bill Lee was the first to teach him the proper way to play field lacrosse - in fact, Keogh had never played before arriving at Brewster and credits Lee for helping him understand the game and being able to succeed at Syracuse.
